Learning that loving the craft isn't always enough.
Overview
Before focusing entirely on digital products, I spent nearly three years running a filmmaking business called GS Media — music videos, wedding films, branded content, drone footage, corporate work.
More than the output, GS Media became the project that showed me what kind of creative work actually energizes me, and what kind doesn't.

The Beginning
It started with a video editing contest. Watching editors turn raw footage into emotional stories changed how I saw video entirely — it felt like storytelling, not documentation.
In my local area, most businesses treated video as an afterthought. I saw a gap: not just filming moments, but crafting stories.

The Work
Every project followed the same process: research, then planning, filming, editing, delivery. I studied references for hours before ever picking up a camera — analyzing pacing, transitions, color, composition.
That habit became one of my biggest strengths.

What Didn't Work
As the business grew, one thing became clear: I loved filmmaking. I didn't necessarily love being a filmmaker. Client communication, on-location directing, unpredictable weekend travel — running the business asked for a version of myself that wasn't sustainable for someone as introverted as I am.
Add a full-time job and Pure Worship Piano on top, and growing all three at once became impossible.
Choosing a Different Direction
In early 2026, I closed GS Media — not because I'd stopped loving video, but because I'd gained clarity on where my energy belonged. The reverse wasn't true. That made the decision clear: instead of growing three careers, I chose to go deep on one. Everything I learned — editing, storytelling, visual presentation — transferred directly into Pure Worship Piano.
I don't see GS Media as a failed business. I see it as proof that the best business isn't the one you're most skilled at — it's the one that fits who you are.
